Wooohoo!

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Be excited everyone! I’m switching to a new domain http://www.paulsneverendingramblings.com. The site isn’t up yet, but I hope to be blogging more with my new skateboard grunge template! Oh, and check out my awesome friend Eric’s blog. He has a really cool post on there!

Paulie

Wow, Golly, Thanks Guys…

Monday, March 24th, 2008

I can’t blog long, but, I just wanted to thank you all.

Thanks for the comments.

Thank you so much Amanda, for hacking my blog… haha, I mean, for posting that birthday entry.

Jocelyn, the pillow case you made me is, flat up AMAZING!

You all have to see this pillow case. Jocelyn sewed Tux onto it, ha! I’ll blog a picture of it soon.

My party was unbelievable. We played some… a lot, of computer games, ha, ate a ton of great food (thanks Mom!), and tossed the football and Frisbee around quite a bit. Tim was giving me all these throwing tips. He used to be on a Frisbee team. They stunk big time, sorry Tim, more on that later. :P

Tim posted a few pictures of the party. You should check them out.

Amanda made the most spectacular cake!!! It was chocolate/caramel cake with real whipped cream frosting and white chocolate bars placed randomly all over. The coolest part though, was an image of Tux up on top! The cake was incredible.

I’ll be really busy this week so I’m not sure I’ll be blogging all the details so soon. I’ll try to squeeze some time in.

Ok, I’m out for now.

Thanks again for the great time, everyone.

Happy 18th Birthday, Dude!

Today is the Dude Paul’s 18th birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUDE!

In honor of your special birthday, I have thrown a massive blogparty for you.

We are all so blessed to know you. You are awesome! I can’t tell how much you have been such a great friend and what a huge help you have been in so MANY things!

You are definitely THE COOLEST Geek I have ever known… OK so you are the only Geek I have ever known, but the coolest anyway. :P

Ok… now on to the party!

Guess who I got to attend this geeky party?

Tux himself. Yes, he is always at your blog. :D

That is why I keep telling you to blog more often.

You never know who is reading…

Since you are having a barbecue for your real party….

why not have one for your blogparty!

There will be PLENTY of food for all your friends at this bbq.

Here is your cake.

Luckily I did not make it. I tried to make you a Tux, but dude, it was horrible.

This one is so much better looking!

Really…

For your gifts, I had a hard time figuring out what to get you…

I seriously had no idea what you would need or want.

So I got you a little Tux key for your new laptop!

Yep, you get a new Dell XPS laptop build to specifications that will be best for your online business and all the work you have to do.

I also got you a Frap from Starbucks,

because I know you can’t live without those!

Doesn’t it look

so good?

And since you are always out of time and can hardly ever talk, I got you some time!

Time to talk.

Time to comment.

Time to blog, because really your blogging is electric!

paulsbloggingad.jpg picture by Super_Angel

Oh yes, and one last thing. I got you a Geek Squad bug! haha! Yeah, now you are a real geek.

I am so glad to know you and so happy we are friends. You really are an awesome friend!

Now have fun at both your parties! Make sure to stop by everyone else who had a party for you too!

New Shoes, New Skateboard, New Computer…(sorta), Got Back From Trip, And Lots of Pictures, All Deserve a New Blog Post! ..(This is Probably My Longest Blog Title)

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Ok, so here I am blogging again.

Thanks for your comments; as you’ve seen from my posts, I’ve been really busy and unfortunately, I haven’t had time to reply to any of them. But yes Jake, I’ll be blogging about my new (used, but new to me) laptop a little here and more in a later post.

Anyhow, we got back from our FL trip on the 9th, had Mom’s birthday on the 10th (like I blogged), and left for IN on, I think, the 11th. So, everything was pretty busy. Right before we left from FL, this artist drew a cartoon version of the kids. And this is what we got…

Cartoon Luke

LUKE

Cartoon Levi

LEVI (Beav)

Cartoon Julia

JULIA

Haha, pretty funny… scary…weird…

I really like FL. It’s on of my favorite states.

Anyhow, onto the IN trip…

Like I said, we left somewhere around the 11th for IN. We went to meet with some new TOS staff and we also got to see the Dixons (YAY)! We had only enough time to meet up for a few hours. So we chose to meet somewhere, where we could catch a WiFi signal (I was going to help Amanda customize a laptop from Dell so we needed to be online) like, Panera! Although we love Panera, after walking in, we quickly realized that this was not the place for a party of 16 to eat. Ha, the place was jam packed. Bummersville… Quickly thinking of a solution, err, better said, an alternative, I suggested we all eat at BestBuy! :P They got, like, bubble gum… and chips, …right? But alas, after a bit of confusion, the group settled on the idea of driving over to Olive Garden and seeing how long the wait would be. Amazingly, they quoted a 15 minute wait which turned out to be a convenient 3 minute wait. Oh, and by the way, this was right around lunch time (1:00pm or so). I, wondering what was wrong with their food to produce such a void of customers (the place was pretty empty), decided to secure a mint from their front podium thing, just in case.

Whipping out my laptop, I quickly learned that my charger obviously hadn’t been working, for my battery was as low as my expectations for this restaurant. And to top it off, there were no WiFi’s within range anyhow. Feeling a bit irritated (this was the laptop I had inherited, which I will blog about in the next entry), I quickly closed it up and made my attempt to socialize with the group, only to feel a weird sensation within my nose… Assuming I had somehow instantly caught a cold which was making my nose run, I made my way to the bathroom… *Ahem* luckily, I had no cold; unfortunately, I had a slight bloody nose. TMI??? (My mother is glaring at me)

I’ll spare you the details.

Ok, moving on…

To my surprise, I found that the Olive Garden food was most excellent and to a degree that I even felt a bit ashamed for doubting and necessitating that mint before dinner. Getting over it, I ate the satisfying food and talked to Jocelyn about her goats, which was quite an interesting dialogue. Something about her goats possibly kidding soon and maybe her making a lot of money off of them or something like that. Sounded cool whatever it was.

Anyhow, our meal was soon over and after shamelessly eating quite a few more mints, we had to say “good bye.”:(

So, we left and headed to Indianapolis from Fort Wayne. In Indy, we got to see the Badgleys again. They are so fun. We got to hang out with them just about the whole rest of the day. Mr. Badgley is really funny. Even when he says a pretty goofy joke that deserves an awkward silence it’s still funny. He should be a talk show host or something…

Ha, here are a few pictures of their little daughter holding our fat Sani. They look like they’d weigh the same, hahahaha….

Well, after a ton of pizza and the right amount of Cherry Coke, we hit the road runnin’. We drove as far as we could, stayed the night in, I think, Cincinnati, got up the next morning, and were home by 4:00pm on the 14th. Yay, but of course, only to get up the next day and leave again. Fortunately, it was only for a birthday party in Knoxville, TN.

Ok, about my really cool shoes! And, my really cool skaterboard! *echoes three times like the car commercials*

Yes, it’s true, I finally, after two years, got some really nice skate shoes that I’m pretty well pleased with. It’ll take a while to break them in but once they’re there, they’ll be… there, err, yeah, wait, what? Ok, never mind. Anyhow, I got a few pictures of my old, broken skaterboarder board and some of my new shoes, board, and them in a sweet combo. Take a look…

Broken board 01

I broke it landing my highest Ollie ever! Hey, if I was a skaterboard, that’s how I’d want to die…

That, is yellow duct tape. I’ll show you why in just a sec…

I put the tough duct tape on my leading/flipping foot. That way it won’t wear my shoe down. As long as I keep duct tape on that part of that one foot, my shoes should last forever.

Hmm, not sure what I was doing there, but, I tell ya, it wouldn’t be possible without my awesome shoes. :P

Ha, alright, that’s it! Sorry it took me forever… it aways does. It’s my birthday the day after tomorrow, so, I’ll tell you about that… some other time. Hint: see this basement? It’s *the* place for Lan Parties — and my birthday is here Saturday. This basement is about to become a war zone….more later.

I’m actually going to post again!

Yeah, and, and, it’ll be really soon, and, and, stay tuned, ok?

It’s Mom’s Birthday!

Monday, March 10th, 2008

Hello everyone,

Our time in FL was awesome. I’ll post some pictures and write more on it a bit later. Right now, we’re packing for another TOS related road trip. We’ll be away for about four days.

Another thing, BlogStatter.com is doing great. I have a whole list of things I want to upgrade on it. Please sign up and tell me what you think of it. What should I change on it? I’m working right now on another very exciting site. I’ll blog more about that later.

Anyhow, for the full day that we’re home, it’s Moms birthday! That’s right, she turns 39 today. Happy Birthday, Mom.

In honor of her birthday, I sent an email out to everyone’s email address that my computer has in it’s memory (I just got this new laptop - which I’ll be blogging about soon aswell). So here are a few of the emails that went back and forth. They’re very funny.

Dena Wood

The CS/Store team has been workin’ on a little something special for you. But, you’ll have to wait until tomorrow (it’s still Sunday here!) to get it. Julie Ott spearheaded quite the extravaganza! lol

For the boss that I doth know

For the friend whose heart does glow

For the lady that we love

She’s a gift from up above

Lord of all to Thee we raise,

This my birthday hymn of praise!

For the lady of the day

For the happiness we pray

Lies within her home so bright

Stay here with her through the night

Lord of all to Thee we raise,

This my birthday hymn of praise!

To our glorious God and King

Praises to Him do I bring

For my friend whose heart is kind

Loving dear sweet sister mine.

Lord of all to Thee we raise,

This my birthday hymn of praise!

Happy Birthday, dear friend!

Happy Birthday, Auntie Gena
Hope you get lots more poems than Dena
I can’t really write poe-tray
So I just hope you have a SUPER birth-day

I love you and miss
Every little kiss
You bestow upon my head
Ok… maybe its time for bed.

Yep, I hope you have a great day
We will see you on Tuesday!
Until then I will stop
Before I get to be a big flop.

Ok… so that was my really bad hand at poetry… I won’t test you again!
Auntie, I love you really. I hope you have a super day!

Dear Gena:

Here is your birthday poem. I am sorry that I sent your 50th Birthday Poem last year. You just look that old. But since you have had a kid since then, and since Paul took the trouble to so well document your birth, I think I have it right this year.

To My Dear Gena: On the Occasion of her First 39th Birthday

by Mia Harper

Gena, Gena, please do not rage,
Because your son revealed your age.
Perhaps it was, for him, a game–
Or payback for his middle name.

In any case, it now is clear
That your very first 39th is here.
So have your breakfast while in bed
And rest your dear old fuzzy head.

For this year soon will fleeting fly
And another year will be pass you by.
Life comes apace; you cannot win:
For soon you’ll be 39 again.

Eric Novak

Hahahaha! That is funny! What IS your middle name Paulie?!

Jacque Dixon

Amazing what the Lord can do with this tired brain….

Happy Birthday Gena~

My dear friend, Gena, with whom I share

My age for nearly half the year,

Today you are getting closer to forty,

But who really cares my dear?

When counting years one can only hope

That hers will never stop

So let us count instead the joys

And giggles and tears that drop.

For who would ever want to trade

A moment of her days

To have less candles on a cake

Or even lesser gray?

You’ve earned those candles- every one

And all the gray hairs too.

The blessings that accompanied them

Are all a part of you.

My birthday wish to you today

Is quiet time with Paul

and your precious children, having fun

There you go my friend. I hpe you have the best birthday EVER!!!!!!!!!

Love you~

Oh my GOODNESS GENA!! You have THE greatest friends! I’ll bet you are totally bawling right now… well, laughing, totally, but you have so many good friends!! Man…. oh man…. the Schooter part…. LOL and the Poetry….. man…..

YOU LADIES ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing it with me!!!

Gena

Oh. My. Word.

I have no words. For once. I mean….seriously. This *did* make me bawl. I can’t believe you guys did this….it’s amazing. Paul’s calling from the kitchen right now (as he reflects on it – since we watched it twice) that it is AMAZING. I simply have no words. Just tears. Wow. You are talented, and hilarious…and just amazing. That’s all I can say. I’m stunned.

Love you guys.

Gena

When it first came on and the singing started, I thought it would be someone lip syncing something – and then I realized that they actually wrote and sang this. I am still stunned. The part where I’m carrying the baby, Starbucks and all the magazines, stumbling around the TN mountains, oh my word. And the baby who apparently wants to nurse and I’m pushing it away – I HOWLED with laughter at that. Look at the look on her (my) face…..still dying. I cannot believe you did this…you made this the funniest birthday I’ve ever had.

Julie Ott

So glad you’re enjoying the details! We had a ball putting it all together!! That beauty queen mama rocking Suzy is none other than Laura! She was such a good sport! Leah is the main singer – I just sang harmony. My son Aaron played and recorded all the accompaniment. And my other daughter, Joanna, plays the part of Gena in all the faceless clips (because her hair is similar to yours). J

Everyone contributed a verse or two and some pics to use.

Amelia Harper
Dear Mortals:

I, too, think that Aquila is a noble name for a dead Roman. I was just teasing Paulie about the fact that Priscilla’s name is always mentioned first in the Bible “Priscilla and Aquila”– actually two of my favorite New Testament people. Some scholars have mentioned that they thought that Priscilla was actually the more intelligent and helpful of the two since her name is always mentioned first by Paul, and that was unusual back then. So I told Paul and Paulie that I was going to write a book on “Wimps of the Bible” and include him and Samson (who lets a woman lie to him repeatedly and then give him a haircut?) and Ahab (remember his wife Jezebel?)– people like that.
Poor Paulie is actually quite manly for a guy with that middle name. And I have to admit that Aquila is WAY better than Perkle. I would not let Gena have ANY naming rights to the next kid, if I were you, Paul.
By the way, Paulie, I recently met a man whose full name is Paul Aquilano. I thought that was sort of cool.

Eric Novak

LOL! Oh my goodness! That is one of the funniest videos I have ever seen! I loved the part where Gena was using her fingers to get out the last of the coffee!

Now was that video made on the clock or or off the clock? ;)

Anyhow, as you can see, we had a good time over the emails. The video was hilarious.

Sorry about all the inside jokes.

Ok, now here are a few pictures of Sani. Most of these were taken the today.

Can you believe it? I’m blogging; shocked?

Yeah, well, this is really something to blog about… read on…

I’m writing from the Country Inn in Florida. We (as in the entire family) left home on the 5th for the NSSEA convention, which started yesterday and ends tomorrow. The NSSEA is a convention for education. It’s commonly called the “Ed Expo” and is my favorite convention to attend (for reasons I will state in a moment). It’s also one of the most exhausting! The whole convention was held in one massive room, which was the size of, hmm, if I had to give an educated guess, I’d have to say over 5 acres. Yes, the convention room was well over 5 acres. Probably closer to something like, 8 square acres. Anyhow, you get the idea; it was a very large room. And walking up and down those long, long aisles, really wore us (“us” being Dad, Luke, and I) out fast, as I’m sure you could imagine. So, we worked the first day, came back to the hotel where Mom and the younger kids were, ate pizza, and went to bed. Then, today we got up at 6:30 and spent the day hard at work. There’s certainly nothing “exciting” about that. So what did I mean by “my favorite convention”? Well, the NSSEA always throws a HUGE bash at the end of the second day, which was tonight. Let me tell you, it was one of the most spectacular nights I’ve ever experienced…

This year, NSSEA and SeaWorld worked out some kind of deal; basically, we all got in free. And SeaWorld set up an entire section just for us. First, we had dinner. The food was excellent! Then, we all made our way over to a MASSIVE auditorium with a very large water tank where this expert guitarist (btw, he was one of the best sweepers I’ve ever seen… errrrr… heard. He really knew what he was doing) played while we watched killer whales perform quite the show. These whales would jump clean out of the water with a diver standing on the tip of its nose! Like I said, and I’ll say it again, the music was awesome. :P

Simply said, it was exciting. After that was finished, we walked over to another location, where we all gathered around this magnificent lake. There, we watch an excellent show that was displayed on a… mist wall! Seriously, they had huge fountains and a massive (I know I keep using that word but that’s really the only way to describe it) spout that shot tons and tons of mist into the air in a condensed area. There was so much mist, they were able to display, with a projector, a beautiful production on the mist wall and accompanied it with a wonderful fireworks display. The whole thing was very exciting. More exciting than it seems; trust me.

Just as we were leaving some artists drew some funny pictures of the kids. I’ll post them soon. And little Susanni did very well. She enjoyed it just as much as I did, I think…

I’ll post some pictures of her later. She’s gotten a bit bigger since the last pictures and she is totally trying to talk now, so cute.

So, here it is now, the end of the day. I am extremely tired. So, I’m afraid I’ll have to end it here without giving further details on the day. I’m just really tired, ha.

Everything was so great but I heavily regret forgetting the camera. I left it in the car. :P

Anyhow, I just wanted to update you all on our trip. We’ll be back in TN soon. Just after we eat at our favorite restaurant, no where to be found in TN, Cheveys! When I get home, I’ll write about the rest of the trip, which of course, has not yet taken place. Yeah, ok, it’s late…

Nighters!
