And Then There Was Florida….

My sister Julia enjoying the waves…

Julia learning the rafting ropes from Mr. Marcum

Julia and Mr. Marcum displaying their catches —- wow, a rare yellow seal!

He doesn’t look like he feels so good…(Lukey)

He’s almost buried. Levi says here that he looks handsome. You decide…

The job’s done! Score!

Look at that horizon - truly a paradise. Jelly fish kept stinging us though…not so paradise there. We were really having to watch where we were swimming. Levi finally started screaming, STING RAY, STING RAY!!! So we all came running….

After it washed up on shore, we all started laughing. Had to get a pic of “Levi’s Stingray.”

Here’s his treasured sting ray - the catch of the day!

Here’s what you have all been waiting for: “The Mama.”

Boy can she ride those waves like a pro.

I’m the tugboat. Mom kept asking me to tug her up and down the coast.

Well, that is it for now. I have more pictures coming…stay tuned. Another beach house coming….

I’m Still Among the Living….

Ok, instead of writing one big entry about our trip at the end of it, I’m going to write a few as they happen. This being the first. :D

We left at 10:00AM Sunday morning (we were going to leave at 6:00AM – we should have planned for 2:00AM and then maybe we would have left by 6)!

We got to Tennehill Historic State Park, AL around 8:00 where we camped. Unfortunately we had to set the tents up in the dark. But after we got the tents up and fire going, we broke open the hotdogs and the marshmallows (or ‘dogs and ‘mallows as Luke calls them).

I forgot my sleeping bag of all things. Fortunately Julia brought an extra one but it was only 4ft long. :(

So I lay down with it in my tent and, oh man, the ground was so hard!

I love camping - especially rough, barely surviving, kind of camping. But this is was crazy! You can’t get any sleep on a bed of rocks! So I cheated. I went and slept in the van. :D

In the morning we broke the tents down and Dad made an excellent omelet with grilled tortillas. Mom does not like her picture taken, but she allowed one this time (said to say she looks all mad here - but wasn’t (just hates cameras). Dad was taking awesome care of her. He did all the cooking and everything). Wait til my next post though - I have pics of her in the ocean on an intertube!!! Stay tuned.

Isn’t Dad a good cook?

Our camp site was very lovely.

I bought a few throwing knives a while back. I really like them, but I don’t get much of a chance to throw them at home in the city. So, I took advantage of all the trees around our camp site.

We left there around 12:00 noon and headed south for Seaside, which is where we are now. We arrived here around 8:00PM last night.

Here area few pictures of the place.

Today was a real laid-back day. We just rested and drove around, looking at the scenery.

Our good friends the Marcums were going to join us for this trip. But only Mr. Marcum was able to come last minute. He just got here.

Ok, I got to go. Mom just made a yummy Mexican meal! :D :D :D

Another update and WAY more pictures coming soon! Wait till you see these beaches….

Going, Going, Going!!!

Sorry I haven’t had time to answer all of your comments.

I’ve been SO busy!!!!

We just got back from SC and now we’re going to be in Florida for a week.

Any of you live down there? Maybe we can meet up somewhere.

We’re leaving at 6am tomorrow and here it is, already 12:00 (I gotta get to bed)!

I just thought I’d post really quick. I’m not ignoring you all. :D

NEWS: HSB will be fixed some time this week!!! We’ll be able to use Java script again (YAY)! We’re upgrading to a bigger server. So the site is going to be really fast now.
